We’re hiring Senior UX Designer (Freelance)
Job description
What do we do?
We improve customer experience for companies in B2B, B2C, and public organisations. We design services and marketing strategies, build successful brands, and create websites and e-commerce so they generate revenue and achieve goals for clients. Our team includes analysts, researchers, designers, marketers, developers, and project managers. We build on data and research. That's what gives our work meaning — for clients and for us.
"What I value most at Proof & Reason is the team and the approach to work. Feedback is a natural part of our processes — it helps us grow not just our projects, but each other as well. I also have the space to dive deep into projects over the long term, and even when something needs to be done quickly, there's always time to ask why."

Lucie Sikorová
What awaits you here?
You'll be responsible for design on two to three client projects from B2B, B2C, and public organisations. You'll be accountable for project strategy and your team's outputs.
Specifically:
- you'll set up and manage the design process on projects – by design process we mean finding meaningful solutions to clients' problems. You'll set the process that leads to solutions and map the path to achieving project goals,
- that's why you'll be involved in the project from the very first proposal – giving you a deep understanding of the client and their business to tailor the design process accordingly,
- you'll handle both strategy and execution – you'll propose methods, ensure quality, and defend key decisions before the client and team,
- you'll distribute work within the team and get the best out of them – you'll define roles clearly and make project teams your sparring partners. You'll provide expert mentoring and regular feedback,
- as a senior UX designer you'll be actively involved in the project alongside your team,
- you'll be a partner to the client, not a silent force in the background – you'll attend all key meetings and output presentations, keep the full project context in mind, and look for further development opportunities,
- you'll collaborate with experienced project managers – together you'll determine project strategy within constraints (schedule, estimates, allocation, priorities).
What do we expect from you?
Above all, experience leading design projects and teams. You can quickly get up to speed, propose a strategy, take ownership of the design process, and you can:
- guide the client towards a concrete brief and project goals – clients come with feelings, thoughts, or motivations. You translate these into a clear problem statement, define goals, and propose an approach,
- give clear feedback and support the team when needed,
- think strategically – you maintain the direction of a project across its phases and can factor in the impact on the client's revenue, costs, and day-to-day reality,
- take on execution when needed – e.g. research, UX, concept development, facilitation, or testing. You have two areas where you're executively strongest and can handle them independently,
- acknowledge where your knowledge has limits and can ask for a consultation.
What's in it for you?
First and foremost:
- freelance collaboration for 30–40 hours per week,
- a fair rate of 540–700 CZK/hour,
- offices in central Prague (near I. P. Pavlova square) or Brno (near Lužánky).
And on top of that:
- a reliable project management team that will be your right hand in client communication and make sure nobody chases you late at night or on weekends,
- a friendly team where you'll have eleven designers and analysts by your side, sharing their know-how and happy to give you feedback,
- room for learning and growth – we have an extensive library and many other learning resources, including our own internal documents,
- paid conferences and courses – we'll cover conferences and courses that push you forward and give you the opportunity to connect with great people.
"I chose Proof & Reason deliberately — I wanted to design services and products grounded in data, not gut feelings. I wanted the opportunity to work on long-term projects, iterate them gradually, and build tools people actually want to use. Within less than a year I knew I'd made the right call."
